The city yesterday celebrated the grand opening of the Riverside Community Health Center, a modern facility designed to improve access to affordable, high-quality healthcare for underserved neighborhoods.

The new center will provide primary care, pediatric services, dental care, mental health counseling, and nutrition education programs, all on a sliding-fee scale based on income.

“Health care is a human right, and this center ensures everyone in our community can access the services they need,” said Dr. Lena Ortiz, the clinic’s medical director.

The facility was built with funding from city grants and private donations, and it has already hired 25 medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, counselors, and nutritionists.

Local leaders say they hope the center will reduce health disparities and hospital emergency room visits for preventable conditions. Staff also plan to host monthly wellness workshops and free vaccination clinics.

“This is an investment in the health, dignity, and future of our community,” said Mayor Anthony Brown at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Residents can learn more or schedule appointments by visiting the official Riverside Health Center website or calling the hotline number posted outside the new facility.
